Alabama State running back Isaiah Crowell has been named to the College Football Performance Awards running back watch list.
 
Crowell, (5-11, 190, Junior), ranked third in the SWAC last season with 842 yards and led the league with a career-best 15 touchdowns. While catching 11 passes for 95 yards, Crowell posted four 100-yard rushing games, including a career-high 149 yards against Texas Southern. Crowell scored at least one touchdown in a game 10 times, including five two-touchdown games. Crowell was a three-time winner of the SWAC Newcomer of the Week Award.
 
All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration. The winner will be announced January 8, 2014.
 
The Hornets will open the 2013 season at home against Jacksonville State Saturday, August 31 at 5 p.m. at the New ASU Stadium.
