2011 ASU Soccer Signs Four

ALABAMA STATE SOCCER SIGNS FOUR

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama State University Soccer Team inked four during the signing period this week.  Each Signee will be a part of the 2011 soccer team this coming fall. 

The 2010 season gave ASU soccer their best in the program's history.  The Lady Hornets advanced their way into the second round of the SWAC Soccer tournament a season ago.  “We lost the anchors of our team both offensively and defensively”. Head coach Jodie Smith said.  This is probably the most complete class since I've been here”.  Coach Smith said.”

Annastaisa (Annie) McCleary

Midfielder

Coolangatta, Australia (Palm Beach Currumbin HS)

Member of the Australain U19 National Team…4 year member of the Queensland Federation State Team leading them to a Championship, Second Place and 2 Third Place finishes in the Australian National Chmapionships…member of the legends FC Soccer Club coached by Cristian Aroya.

 

Katherine (Katie) McCleary

Defender

Coolangatta, Australia (Palm Beach Currumbin HS)

Four year member of the Queensland Federation State Team that had a Championship, Second place and 2 Third place finishes in the Australian National Championship…4 time selection and captain of the South Coast All School girl team…member of the Brisbane Premier Women's Soccer Club Twin sister Annie also a member of this year's signing class.

Forward

Phoenix, Arizona (Desert Vista HS)

Named a top 20 recruit in the Rocky Mountain Region by TopDrawerSoccer.com…member of the Arizona Sting FC Soccer Club coached by Kim Byrnes…led team to top 4 finishes in Arizona State Championship games in each of the last 4 years.  Coached by Paul Mangooian.

 

Kylee Hathaway

Goalkeeper

Pamona, California (Diamond Ranch HS)

Coached by Victoria Hedges.  4 year starter at Diamond Ranch, led team to the league Championship and the 2nd round in the CA.  Interscholastic Federation CIF in 2008 and the 3rd round in the CIF in 2009 which is the best finish in school history…member of the Legends FC Soccer Club coached.
