HARTLY, Del. – Alabama State University football standout Adrian Hardy earned another accolade for his strong play in 2009 garnering Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) All-American Division I-FCS team honors Wednesday.

The All-American team is comprised of student-athletes from the nation's historically black colleges and universities and selected by the HSRN production staff.

Hardy, a senior linebacker from Selma, Ala., finished with 104 tackles this season leading both the team and the Southwestern Athletic Conference. His average of 9.5 stops per game also led the league and ranked him 34th in the NCAA. Hardy posted five double-digit tackle performances this season including a career best 17 tackles against Tuskegee. He also finished the year with 10.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and a team-best five interceptions.

An All-SWAC first-team selection on defense, Hardy also participated in the inaugural Russell Athletic Senior HBCU Bowl on Dec. 19 at Cramton Bowl. In addition, he was named to the SBN Sports Black College All-American (BCAA) Team last week.
