Opening the year with just seven field players, the Alabama State women's soccer team (0-1-0) suffered a 14-0 loss to Charleston Southern (2-0-0) Friday evening at a rain-drenched Buccaneer Field.
The game was initially delayed due to lightning in the Charleston area, and was finally called in the 71st minute due to a return trip from the inclement weather.
Marky Boyce and Morgann Wood each recorded hat-tricks to lead the Charleston Southern offense.
Senior goalkeeper
Veronique Lamontagne recorded 22 saves for the Lady Hornets.
