The Alabama State University women’s golf team finished second behind Jackson State on Tuesday at the SWAC Women’s Championship held at the Links on the Bayou Golf Course.

The Lady Hornets posted a 36-hole total of 740 (371-369), finishing runner-up to Jackson State, which claimed its fifth consecutive league title. The second-place showing marked the best finish for the women's golf program since 1998.

Danielle Robinson was the top finisher for ASU, earning a third-place showing with a two-day score of 162 (79-83). Robinson was joined in the individual Top 20 rankings by teammates Ericka Ware (T-10th, 180), D’Andrielle Robinson (T-17th, 195) and Vernetta Harris (19th, 203).

Robinson, who won three tournament titles this year, was named a first-team member of the All-SWAC squad.
