ASU Cheerleading: A Valued Tradition

Dec. 15, 2006

Montgomery, Ala. - From spirited cheers shouted up to eager fans to their amazing and challenging stunts, the Alabama State University cheerleaders are as important to school spirit as a perfect season is to an underrated, yet deserving, football team. The ASU cheerleaders add an undeniable thrill to game day.

In addition to sidelining sports events to boost school spirit, ASU cheerleaders gain recognition for the University through good sportsmanship, crowd involvement and promoting goodwill among colleges. The ASU cheerleading program strives to support personal growth through effective management of athletic and academic responsibilities.

The success of the 2006-2007 cheerleading team is not only a credit to the young men and women that dedicate their efforts to the goodwill of the university, it's accomplishments are the results of: Vala Delaine-Cheerleader Coach; Keytesha Mccoy- Assistant Cheerleader Coach, Ebone Mcgilvery-Junior Varsity Cheerleader Coach, Tanya Hayter- Junior Varsity Cheerleader Coach, and Keith Edwards- Cheerleader Director.
